I have tried Google Chrome because I was getting crashes and strange behavior on a number of web sites using IE8. Chrome is faster, but I've traded the devil for the witch when it comes to functionality.
1. Since toolbars no longer exist, I have click in and out of RoboForm many times each session because, if I let it on, it covers the slider at the bottom of the screen. It may be RoboForm's problem, but toolbars aren't exactly arcane features of web sites.
2. The imbedded .PDF viewer will not permit functions that I use often. For example, I cannot copy portions of a document nor can I search for values in web sites that use .pdfs such as NewspaperArchive, both of which are a snap in IE8 because it uses the stand-alone Adobe viewer.
3. Organizing bookmarks is much easier in IE8 - or at least I haven't discovered how to do it easily in Chrome. Ergo, I update bookmarks in IE8 and import them to Chrome, and that's dumb.
5. There is insufficient control over the size of displayed screens, so I often have to choose between displays that are either a bit too small or a bit too large. Let users enter the screen size percentage directly.
6. I haven't found a way to get the spell checker to recommend spelling, nor have I found a way to set it to ignore numeric designations such as "9th."
