I'm using Google Chrome 15.0.874.102 (Build oficial 106587) on a PC with Windows 7

This is a list of ideas that you could use for improving Google Chrome. I don’t know if it would be useful for you, but I do it with all of my best intention. I just love the technology and Google has made so great things.


“New Tab” Page

1) When you open the “new tab” page, you could see the brand new interface that show your apps and more visited websites. I should say I love the re-design, but why you didn’t add the extension page here? I think it would be better to let the users see all their installed extensions near the apps.

2) Also, I think this bottom panel could include another features like a link to the Bookmarks and a link to the Options page. Some people could say that there would be too much elements, but I don’t think so because they are small buttons and there are enough space to include 4 or 5 elements.

3) When you click on a Chrome application, the bottom panel I commented before, display a third “element”. I don’t know if this is a bug or it must display it but then I don’t understand the purpose of the element because it has not any text below.

4) Also, when you does a click on any app, the visual effect that produces is that the icon makes larger. I think this is not a correct way to tell the users that they have pressed on an app. What do you think about making the effect of that icon has increased its depth?

5) Finally, the “new tab” page has a “silly” failure about design. In the bottom panel, you should consider that the text above the little lines is limited. There are some languages such as spanish, that the text is very large, so I am reading “más visitado” instead of “más visitados”.  I don’t know if this happens with another languages, but in spanish you could use a synonime like “más vistos” (it means more watched)


Chrome Tools button

1) I have the impression that the menu it’s not very simple. I suppose you have done many usability tests but there are too much menu items and I don’t think many people use the edit or zoom option, for example.

2) However, why is the extensions menu item inside of “Tools”?  I understand Tools more like a set of browser’s utilites that developers use, but anyone could use an extension, isn’t it?

3) And finally, if you click on “Bookmarks”, it displays 3 options about bookmarks, and later the list of bookmarks that you save. But the problem is that many people (I do it always too) save a web link adding the bookmark in order to read it later, and the page title is very large, so you see here a truly wide list that don’t let you see anything on the browser. Why don’t you just put a link to the Bookmarks Manager on the main menu?
